This gallery includes twelve woodblock prints of flowers and (or) birds which Gakusui designed in the late 1940s and early 1950s. His flower and bird subjects were drawn in a creative way but their shapes and colors were accurate enough for Japanese picture viewers to identify the species of flowers and birds depicted without much difficulty.
